Deb and Paul, husband & wife team, the instigators and owners of Sugar Wharf Weddings and the creative force behind your wedding day! Their parent business is Two Tribes Style (formally known as The Vintage Hire Company), a boutique ‘Style & Hire’ company specialising in creating stylish customised weddings. Deb and Paul work with a small dedicated crew, and provide a highly experienced planning, innovative & creative styling service which incorporates our boutique furniture and décor hire, customised lighting and creative floristry.

Planning & Styling

Deb, co-founder of Sugar Wharf Weddings and Two Tribes Style (formerly The Vintage Hire Company), is a designer and creative director with a passion for creating unique weddings and events for those who crave more than the ordinary. Deb is an interior design-inspired creative and maker of impossibly beautiful spaces who brings a boutique sensibility to creating one-of-a kind weddings! With unrestrained imagination, Deb has the ability to conceptualise events with authentic aesthetics and flawlessly execute with the visions of a dreamer.

Never one to follow the crowd or duplicate, Deb not only has the cognition to foresee new wedding trends but create imaginative new personalised concepts. Deb believes that every wedding or celebration should be an extension of her client's personal style and be not just a decorated space but a totally memorable wedding ‘experience’.

Furniture & Prop Hire

Our Event Hire division of the business stocks the largest hybrid boutique furniture hire collection in North Queensland. We offer within our fully styled curated packages, a magical selection of bespoke products unlike any other company showcased within a drop-dead gorgeous and inspiring catalogue full of new, heirloom, and custom furniture and décor items. From chic contemporary to one of a kind vintage, you’ll find everything you need to ensure that your wedding decor stands out from the crowd. Our furnishings for weddings are the unique pieces that will really add that Wow factor and your ‘couples stamp’ at your event — the cherry on top!

Opperations

As our Operations Manager Paul, is in charge of delivering each event with skilful seamless efficiency.

In charge of developing and implementing work plans, Paul manages the site inspections, furniture and equipment delivery and layout, power requirements and lighting installations and all load in and load out schedules. In the workshop, Paul’s exceptional and creative hands- on construction skills are reflected in our fabulous custom built furniture and props notably including our stylish timber dining tables, bar tables and fabulous range of unique bars adding that extra special bespoke element to our styling.

Paul, your typical Irishman and renowned joke teller, leads the operations crew with his fun sense of humour always providing a laugh and lightening the mood in what sometimes can be a stressful business!

“I’m the self-confessed ‘Lifting, Pushing, Pulling’ man! and ‘Mr Jack-Of-All-Trades’. Custom-building furniture being my speciality, I’m also the truck driver, the lighting installer, the furniture removalist and maintenance guru. I’m also the one who moves and puts the furniture in place at the events. Well, working as a husband and wife team, as you can imagine, historically, moving furniture and your wife giving directions isn’t always a fun mix! Each piece of furniture has to be moved ten times until the ‘right’ spot is decided on, meanwhile we’re holding a 50 kg sofa mid-air while the decisions are arrived at! Jokes aside, that’s all ok though as much as I hate to admit it ‘she’s always right!” and the satisfaction seeing the event set up in all its fabulous glory is always a proud moment for the whole team!’ Paul Kinsella

Floristry

Our Two Tribes Style floristry division incorporates an in-house floral studio within our gorgeous Wedding Showroom. Here we design, prep and create all your beautiful wedding flowers. Our qualified florists, with Ayumi as our senior florist, form part of our comprehensive design team. We believe incredible flowers play a fundamental role in what we create and enhance the rest of your events visual narrative. Combining your personal style, we are confident with colour palettes, we explore texture, fragrance, shape, floral content, patina...everything. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and love to create memorable floral experiences.

In addition to your wedding party florals and tabletop floral décor, we also specialise in creating impossibly beautiful botanical installations and bespoke styled floral concepts. We strive to authentically style the unlikeliest of spaces, so that all the elements organically inhabit the setting.
